Perfume is generally expensive and worth the price if you smell absolutely delicious.

Although, after buying the perfume you find that it only lasts a couple of hours and then the smell disappears. You may also find that certain perfumes last longer on other people.

Perfumery Tips

  • Buy organic perfume – it is said that natural perfume without any chemicals lasts a lot longer on the skin than normal perfumes. It also smells stronger. Natural is always better.
  • Once perfume is sprayed it actually evaporates, which allows us to be able to smell the scent. This means that perfume is relatively volatile as the scent will change over time on our bodies as the day goes on. Each person is unique and the volatility of a fragrance depends on you. This could be dependent of your body temperature at the time you spray or the type of skin you have. If you tend to perspire a lot, you may need to experiment with different types. There are also ways to learn how to stop sweating so much.
  • If you have oily skin, the perfume will most likely last longer on the skin. Dry skin unfortunately does not absorb the fragrance as well; therefore the scent is lost after a very short period of time. It is said that redheads struggle the most with making perfume last on the skin. A tip is to apply the perfume to the oiliest parts of your body; this could be between your breasts, neck, and the soft inside part of the elbow or your hairline. You should try different parts everyday to see what works for you.
  • One or two sprits over your hair is a great thing to do; as you walk by, people will get a natural and light scent from you.
  • Never put your perfume on straight after you get out of the shower. Natural oil in your skin is removed once you have a hot shower and have scrubbed with soap. If you put a fragrance free body lotion on after you shower it will put some moisture back into the skin, one of the best things to put on before is petroleum jelly that can be found in any local supermarket. Otherwise wait a few minutes then spray.
  • Some perfumes tend to stain clothes, therefore if it is a new spray test it on your scarf first.
  • If your perfume comes with a fragrant lotion use the two simultaneously to create a longer lasting and stronger smell. Where ever you usually apply the fragrance, put a few drops of lotion on first. Do not use this lotion of your legs, it is meant to be used in conjunction with the perfume.
  • Not many people know that citrus scents tend to disappear faster; woody scents last a lot longer.
  • Never rub your wrists together as this break down the oils, rather sprit and wait for it to dry.
  • Fragrances generally last about 5 to 8 hours; this purely depends on quality and concentration. After this time you should reapply, so keep a small bottle handy in your bag or car.

Final Word

Always use natural products before synthetic ones, and only use organic shampoo and organic perfume.
