Vitamins can be acquired easily through the foods we eat. The main source of vitamins is fresh fruits and vegetables. However, you could consume these products diligently but still miss out on the vitamins.

Both fruits and vegetables are perishable foods meaning that they can go bad very fast. In correct methods or handling and cooking these foods will destroy their nutritive value.

While selecting, always go for green leafy vegetables straight from the garden. This will ensure that the vitamins are still intact and wholesome. Vegetables that have been harvested and exposed to the sun for too long tend to lose nutrients at a very fast rate. Overcooking them will also ruin their nutritive value as they are lost through the steam.

Fruits on the other hand should also be fresh and succulent. The color of the fruit should be well defined and not a blend of two colors. The skin should always be smooth and never wrinkled. It should also be fleshy and ripe enough.
