Bloating - A General Overview
Bloating is common in the stomach, and most of us will experience the feeling of bloated stomach many times in our lives, but if you experience it with nausea, pain, or vomiting, you should immediately consult a doctor, because this may point to a more serious health issue.
Bloating also leads to flatulence (a condition of excess gas in the body), where you may feel intense abdominal pressure and feeling of fullness in stomach. At times, you may feel as if your stomach is stretched to full or you may even feel weighed down. All those who experience bloating often cannot fully digest their food, and in some cases, may swallow too much of air. Sometimes a person may get bloated feeling due to anxiety, water retention, digestion problems, over eating, smoking, constipation, and indigestion.
So What are the Causes?
Usually, bloating occurs due to gas trapped in small intestines, which in turn causes flatulence, an uncomfortable feeling and painful stomach ache. At times, suffering person may feel flatulent throughout the day, and even at nights. Sometimes this condition may also result in sleeplessness.
When your Diet Causes Flatulence
When we are young, we may eat as much as we want, and calories somehow bounce off use. But we must also understand that we cannot keep doing this indefinitely. As we grow old, frequent flatulence episodes become less funny and more worrying. In fact, frequent flatulence is a warning sign of our body. If we continue eating all wrong things then our digestive system sends out an alarm call. Mostly, this is in the form of ill-timed and embarrassing burst of wind. However, frequent flatulence is not something you can ignore.
Read the signs!
There are only few people who may not have occasionally broken wind. It’s not just fizzy drinks and processed food that causes flatulence. Sprouts, beans, white bred, cakes, and various other foods also generate it as well. The frequent flatulence due to these foods is generally less problematic than one caused due to processed foods.
